Online platforms, particularly in the modern era of high-speed internet, have given queer creators opportunities to produce and easily share visual media. Online queer art, visual media, and short films proliferate and are freely shared, and allow for queer identity and expression to be widely viewed. Modern major social platforms, like Youtube and Twitter, have been criticized for "demonetizing" or otherwise censoring queer and leftist content, leading to questions about how to re imagine the web in a way that is freeing to topics that are important to the queer, POC, and leftist communities.
